The radiation unit
This unit comprises a Varian linear accelerator (Clinac 21 EX) which produces 6 and 15 MV photon beams and 6 – 20 MeV electron beams. This configuration includes a high-resolution multileaf collimator and is controlled by a 4D treatment console. The radiation and planning units and the various clinical and administrative sections at the Centre are networked through VARiS Vision information management software, also from Varian.
